Introduction to Saurpani Gorkha
There is a popular saying how it acquired its name Saurpani. It is believed that Saurpani was empty a long time ago but was recognized by a special Saur tree (a medicinal herb value) at the source of spring water. Hence water by the Saur tree became Saurpani. Some people also maintain that Saur is related to sun and pani water, so it is the place of the sun and water. Thus Saurpani Media Pvt Ltd has adopted its logo with a rising sun over water.
Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality has its importance in history. It is believed that a King of Sulikot used to rule this area and later it was under Ajirkot of Ghale Kings. World famous VC winner Gaje Ghale was born in Barpak. The Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality Saurpani consists of several previous vdc including Saurpani that falls into ward No. 4 now. Saurpani is located at 59.8 KM from the district headquarters and in the elevation of 500 meters to 3200 meters above sea level.
